The loss of the Raja is a great mourning not only for India but also for the wildlife of the world. Raja was one of the longest living Bengal tigers. He remained the king of the jungle for 25 years and 10 months. The life of a Bengal tiger usually ranges from 15 to 16 years. But Raja broke all the barriers and lived more than 25 years. Raja was brought to South Khairbari in 2008 after being injured by a crocodile in a fight in the Sundarbans with more than 10 injuries. Raja’s caretakers said that he used to answer the calls of the veterinarians who took care of him, they said that the king was like a child and he was able to understand everything.
