Every year about one million Indians visit France, this number is increasing by 20% to 30% every year. UPI, the mobile payment system developed by India, is being exported to countries around the world. It has now become very convenient for Indian tourists in France to make general payments through the UPI system. It has now become very easy for Indian tourists to buy tickets for the Eiffel Tower or other monuments or to buy goods from hotels, transport, retailers. Launched in 2016 by the Government of India, this technology has revolutionized mobile payments in India. The service was developed by India in collaboration with French specialist Lyra, which has been in India for 17 years.
