Lucknow-Senior film actress Jaya Bachchan filed her nomination for Rajya Sabha as a SP candidate.Jaya was elected before to the upper house of the Parliament in 2004, 2006, and 2012. She was accompanied by Samajwadi Party leaders Dimple Yadav, Rajendra Chaudhary and Kironmay Nanda etc. In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Samajwadi Party is having 47 MLAs.Jaya gave thanks Mulayam Singh Yadav, party MLAs and MLCs for her candidature.
