Indian-origin US Ambassador to the Netherlands Ms. Shefali Razdan Duggal has been honored with a tulip in her name. Ms. Duggal attended a ceremony at Keukenhof Castle to pour champagne on the vase of the ‘Shefali’ tulip on the occasion of International Women’s Day . Ms. Duggal was thrilled to have Tulip in her name. “The tulip is a beautiful flower that has been cherished and loved for centuries and therefore represents a positive representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,” he said.

He was sworn in as the US Ambassador to the Netherlands in 2022.
The pink ‘Shefali’ tulip was created by Mavericks International of St. Maarten and is the result of an extensive project that began in 2009 with the aim of creating strong and disease-resistant tulips.
