The Government of India has launched Operation Ajay to facilitate Indian citizens wishing to return from Israel. India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that special charter flights and other arrangements are being made for the return of Indians. Shri Jaishankar said that our government is fully committed to the safety and well-being of Indian citizens abroad. The Indian Embassy has emailed the first batch of Indian citizens registered for the special flight. The message will be sent to other registered people for subsequent flights, it said. The Embassy is continuously working to help fellow citizens in Israel through its helpline. The Embassy is regularly advising people to remain calm, alert and observe security. In view of the ongoing developments in Palestine and Israel, a 24-hour control room has been set up in the Ministry of External Affairs to monitor the situation and provide information and assistance. India’s representative office in Ramallah has also set up a 24-hour emergency helpline.
