New Delhi – Geetika Srivastava has been appointed as the Indian diplomat in Islamabad. Geetika will be India’s first woman diplomat in Pakistan. IFS Geetika of 2005 batch is the first woman to represent India in Pakistan in a diplomatic capacity. Media reports say that former diplomat Suresh Kumar will return to New Delhi after Srivastava’s appointment.
Geetika Srivastava has previously served as Joint Secretary in the Indo-Pacific Division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). With an illustrious career, she brings to her good experience her postings at the Embassy of India in Beijing, China from 2007 to 2009 as well as her role as the Director of the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Kolkata.
