Mumbai -V. Shantaram lifetime achievement Award has given to veteran film producer and director Shyam Benegal at Mumbai International Film Festival.The award will be presented to him tomorrow evening at concluding ceremony of MIFF in Mumbai. He will be awarded a trophy, cash price of 10 lakh rupees, a certificate and a shawl by Governor of Maharashtra C. Vidyasagar Rao.Shyam Benegal has been selected for his contribution to the promotion of the documentary movement. The credit of Introducing experimental parallel films in India goes to him. He has made 28 great films like Ankur, Mandi, Bhumika and Manthan. Besides that, he has made 41 documentary films on various social topics.
