Delhi is on high alert after violence in Haryana and Punjab

A train was torched in Anand Vihar by the supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda chief self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.Mr Gurmeet was found guilty in a fifteen-year-old rape case against him.In Haryana and Punjab violence erupted soon after the verdict was announced during the day, with supporters attacking the police burning vehicles.The supporters of self-styled godman also attacked the media present in Panchkula for coverage.

29 killed, 250 injured as Dera chief was convicted in a rape case by CBI

The Prime Minister Modi strongly condemned the violence and urged everyone to maintain peace.About 29 people have been killed and more than 250 injured as violence erupted in Haryana and Punjab after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in a rape case by a CBI court in Panchkula.The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on August 28.Dera described the court’s verdict as unjust, and said it would appeal against it.

Uber will start services from Kolkata, Chennai, Bhubaneswar and Pune airports

Ride sharing company Uber will soon operational at the airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Bhubaneswar and Pune.Uber has announced a partnership with Airports Authority of India to offer easier options to ride sharing to travellers from the airports.Ride sharing company will set up booking zones on these airports, where even those who do not have the app will be able to book a ride, it said.There will be a dedicated pick up zone outside arrival terminals said Uber officials.

Nandan Nilekani has been appointed as its new chairman of Infosys , replacing R Seshasayee. Reserve Bank of India to issue Rs 200 notes

Govt has given clearence to RBI to issue Rs 200 notes that will ease pressure on lower-denomination currency bills.In a notification of Finance ministry , said that on the recommendations of the Central Board of Directors of the RBI, “the central government hereby specifies the denomination of banknotes of the value of two hundred rupees”.
