 Indian F M Mr. P Chidambaram was on Sunday appointed Home Minister after incumbent Mr.Shivraj Patil resigned owning moral responsibility for the Mumbai terror attacks. A Rashtrapati Bhawan communique announced the appointment of Mr.Chidambaram as Home Minister after acceptance of Mr.Patil's resignation. It said the Prime Minister will hold the additional charge of Finance. After recommending Mr. Patil's resignation to the President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, who is away in Indonesia, the Prime Minister spoke to Mr. Chidambaram formally conveying the decision to give him
