The President of India has asked people's representatives to concentrate on the issues which benefit the weaker and deprived sections of the society. She was speaking in a function at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai , where she unveiled an enthroned statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She also gave away awards such as Best speech award, Life time achievement and Best Parliamentarian awards instituted by the State Legislature. The President urged to the legislators as well as the members of Parliament to provide guidance and leadership to eradicate social evils like corruption, child marriage, female feticide and dowry and make use of every opportunity for solving the problems faced by the people.(air) |
