Booking is Open for Shimla-New Delhi flight under UDAN scheme PDF Print E-mail

New Delhi-Booking has been opened by Air India  for its first flight under the Regional Connectivity Scheme to be operated on the Shimla-New Delhi route by its subsidiary Alliance Air.Over 45 unserved and under-served airports would be connected under the scheme- UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik)- that seeks to make flying more affordable.Last year, Air India had received a rap from the Supreme Court for the lack of air connectivity to Shimla last year.

Mumbai-Forex reserves of India rose by $889.4 million to $369.887 billion during the week ended April 14, helped by increase in foreign currency assets.
 Foreign currency assets (FCAs), a major component of the overall reserves, surged by $881 million to $346.248 billion in the reporting week said RBI.Gold reserves remained unchanged at $19.869 billion. The special drawing rights with the International Monetary Fund was up by $3.1 million to $1.446 billion, while India's reserve position with the Fund, too, rose by $5.3 million to $2.323 billion.

Tokyo - The Indian delegation led by the Commerce and Industry Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman met mr Hiroshige Seko, Japanese Minister for Trade Economy and Industry  and addressed a gathering of about 250 participants at the India Investment Seminar  in Tokyo .Indian minister invites Japanese investers to invest in India.The Minister talked about investment opportunities available in India with the goal to increase contribution of manufacturing sector to 25% of GDP by 2025.

New Delhi-The tourism sector in the country has been on a growth trajectory since the present government came into power in May, 2014. India’s ranking in the Travel and Tourism Competitive Index  of World Economic Forum moved from 65rd position to 52nd position in 2015. Now India has moved up by another 12 positions and ranked at 40th position.  In all, in last three years India has cumulatively improved its ranking by 25 places which is a significant achievement.India continues to charm international tourists with its vast cultural and natural resources.

The 64th National Film Awards 2016 were announced by the Chairpersons of the juries on Feature Films, Non Feature Films, Best Writing on Cinema and Most Film Friendly State Award. The Feature Film Central panel was headed by Shri Priyadarshan, an eminent Film filmmaker popularly known for his Malayalam movie Kanchivaram. The Chairperson for Non – Feature Film Jury was Shri Raju Mishra while the Chairperson for Writing Jury was Ms. Bhawana Somaaya. The Most Film Friendly State award which was introduced as a new category was announced by Shri Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, a popular Director in Telugu film industry. The National Film Awards would be presented by Hon’ble President of India on May 3rd, 2017.Prior to the announcement of awards, the Jury Members of the 64th National Film Awards for Best Writing on Cinema submitted its report to the Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Col. Rathore The Jury Members for the Feature and Non- Feature categories submitted the reports yesterday to the Minister for Information & Broadcasting Shri Venkaiah Naidu.
