Lucknow -PM Mr Narendra Modi said, people have to be united to fight against growing terrorism.He Speaking on the occasion of Vijaya Dashmi at Lucknow.terrorism as an enemy of humanity said Modi.Furthe he said those who are helping terrorists and providing shelter to them must not be spared.He asked all he countries of the world to fight terrorism unitedly, the Prime Minister said, terrorists have no geographical boundaries and can attack anyone anywhere in the world.

On increased buying the gold by jewelers,it gained 150 rupees, to 30,800 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market.Silver also rose 200 rupees, to 46,700 rupees per kilo. Silver coins remained steady, at 74,000 rupees for buying 100 pieces.But overseas, gold fell 0.6 per cent, to 1,327 dollars an ounce.

Women of Indian origin have played a pivotal role in successive generations of Persons of Indian Origin maintaining their Indian culture and following Indian traditions.This Ministry has taken special interest in the Gender issues. Sessions on gender related issues are held regularly at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conventions. A series of steps for the welfare and welll-being of the Indian women going to other countries to work in different capacities have also been taken by the Ministry. 
Special attention has been paid to cases reported by Indian women deserted/abandoned by their NRI husbands. This Ministry has started a scheme to provide legal and financial assistance to such Indian women. Several inter-ministerial meetings, seminars, awareness campaigns have been organised by it.Efforts have been made to rope in Overseas Indian Women Associations to help the Indian women in finding solutions towards their problems.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated on 9th January every year to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India. These conventions are also very useful in networking among the overseas Indian community residing in various parts of the world and enable them to share their experiences in various fields.During the event, individuals of exceptional merit are honoured with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to appreciate their role in India’s growth. The event also provides a forum for discussing key issues concerning the Indian Diaspora.
