India is home for me and one does not visit but come home, said Sir Ben Kingsley at a press conference at IFFI Goa today. He said that like a long lost melody or a forgotten perfume, the extraordinary welcome has assured him that the thread that was created in 1981-82 during filming of Gandhi has not snapped. 'Same juices flowing in my body which I felt when Attenborough said action for Gandhi' said the legendary actor who is the guest of honour at IFFI Goa.

It was once more at IFFI-Goa where Asha Parekh went down the memory lane and a formal press conference turned into a collective re-living of the days gone by. A gracefully resplendent Asha said unassumingly ‘perhaps god destined me to be a film star and I worked to fulfill that destiny.’ That humility was on display when someone asked her about her evolution as an actor. She said perhaps she was born with little bit of acting ability and learned on the job. ‘In my initial movies I was presented as a glamour doll but with Do Badan I achieved critical acclaim which was very satisfying’ she added. |
