India will hold its first ever International Tourism Exhibition on "Global Travel Mart India" next year. This was announced by Union Tourism Minister, Subodh Kant Sahai in a press conference, here today. He said many foreign countries will participate in this exhibition. The Minister said this will help in showcasing India’s Tourism potential to the world. He said Ministry of Tourism also plans to hold a conference of Tourism Minister of various countries who have signed MoU with India. This conference will also be held in India. A conclave of countries having large Buddhist population will also be held in India in next year January/February to give a boost to the Buddhist Tourism. |

India’s exports have registered a growth of 44.2% during August 2011, at US $ 24.3 billion. Interacting with the media persons here today, Shri Rahul Khullar, Commerce Secretary, informed that during the period April-August 2011, exports have reached a level of US $ 134.5 billion, a growth of 54.2% while the imports were US $ 189.4 billion with a growth of 40.4% and a trade deficit of US $ 54.9 billion, during the same period. During the interaction, Shri Khullar also informed that India’s imports in August 2011 were US $ 38.4 billion registering the growth of 41.8%. Balance of trade for the month of August 2011 stood.. |
