Bhutanese film ‘ The School n the end of the World ‘ (Lunana) is having particular success worldwide. The film tells the story of a modern youth named Ugyen, who lives in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. His dream was to go to Australia and make a career as a singer. But he is sent as a young teacher to the remotest part of Bhutan. Bound by his employment contract with the government, the young man was forced to accept a teaching position in Lunana. This small village with only 56 inhabitants is situated at an altitude of 4,800 meters. Away from the city, he was initially not happy seeing the daily harsh life, but in no time the spiritual power of the villagers changed the direction of his life. This young teacher had to give up internet, mobile phone, electricity etc. in the village situated at an altitude of 4,800 meters. The film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best International Film category.
